I like Fred's, although I haven't been there for a year or so. It's a friendly neighborhood place with a lot of regulars, and they have decent beer. It can get a bit noisy at times, though. On the plus side, there's a parking lot in back, which allows a discreet, low-profile exit through the adjacent industrial area.
Oh, the place on Middlefield that I mentioned yesterday is called Francesca's, not Zelda's. I drove past there on the way home from work yesterday to confirm the name. I don't remember what it was called before that. Maybe I'll stop in sometime soon.
It's always good to hear about interesting watering holes. Between the health craze and the paranoia about getting arrested for drunk driving, it seems like hardly anybody stops off for a beer on the way home from work anymore. That came up in another newsgroup a while back, in the context of how there's so little workplace cameraderie these days.
