I find the place grossly over rated. The food is pretty good, and the ambiance is pleasant, but it is very far from outstanding on either of those scores. The service has been distinctly lacking on several occasions I've been there. No way is the place worth the bill. -Lenny Hockey P. wrote in message ... >I'll be in the Bay Area early next month and I've heard from numerous people >that Aqua Restaurant is *THE* place to dine for seafood while in San >Francisco. Aqua Restaurant
It's been a while since I've been to Aqua (largely because of those hefty bills) but my experiences have ranged from great to fantastic. I think the place does the most interesting things with seafood I've ever tasted, and I actually think the portions are reasonable given the market it's in. Their signature dish, the tuna loins with foie gras and pinot noir reduction, is truly amazing (although a friend and I made what I think is an even better version :)), and the saffron-mussel souffle is out of this world. Enjoy!
