Try Everett & Jones either in Oakland or Hayward. Or Doug's in Oakland. If you really got the time (and a rental car), I strongly suggest Bobby's Backdoor Cajun BBQ in Richmond. Any good Q in San Leandro?
NNTP-Posting-Date: Tue, 05 Oct 1999 18:16:41 PDT Organization: SBC Internet Services Xref: alexander.INS.CWRU.Edu alt.food.barbecue:14678 When you're out for a weekend drive swing up to Sonoma. Rob's Rib Shack is an extremely wonderful Q-Joint! Arnold Drive on the way toward Glen Ellen, across from a small Park and next to a Golf Driving Range. (Between Verano and Boyes drives, on Arnold, before the Sonoma Country Club Golf Course) Rob was famous for his "Killer Fries" when he was a chef elsewhere... now it's Ribs, Chicken, Pulled Pork Sandwich, not-as-killer but still damn good fries, some of the best cole slaw I've ever had, beers and wines, sitting either on picnic tables inside or tables and plastic chairs outside. That's how good the Q is, he doesn't need to furnish the place in a fancy fashion! (Their local newspaper ad shows a kid with a big smile and sauce all over his face!)
