A few weeks ago, I posted a request for restuarants that would be suitable for hosting a 50th anniversary party. A few people emailed me individually, and I want to thank you for that. Well the party has come and gone and it was a thorough success. The party was held at Le Papillon restaurant in Fremont. We had 33 people of all ages and everyone had a good time. We had a private room for the entire evening; the waitstaff were very accomodating and flexible; made real-time changes when requested, brought in special drinks for the kids (unrequested). Other things I liked: they had the room set up very nicely; with flowers and candles on the tables. The service was efficient, but unobtrusive. The food was good (not a high gourmet experience, but good food). They served the cake we brought in for no extra charge. At the last minute we wanted to play a VCR taped message to the folks celebrating their anniversary. The manager of the restaurant made an extra effort and went home to bring over a television so we could play the tape. This manager was very easy to work with and very accomodating. Le Papillon serves French food in an elegant, old fashioned atmosphere. I want to recommed the restaurant since we had such a wonderful time. If anyone desires further info, email me privately.
