First and foremost, bbq in Texas, traditionally mean beef brisket or beef ribs, not pork. You can find good pork bbq, but it's been imported from Memphis usually. Best place to start is by asking the people you will be meeting with. Find someone who REALLY likes bbq. If they know about the places below, you've found one. My suggestions: Baker's Ribs at 4844 Greenville Avenue. Or Zeus' Smokehouse and Pub at 4615 W. Lovers Lane. Here's a link, with phone and directions. Try any of them. http://dallasobserver.com/listings/restaurants/index.html At the time, the other 3 of the 5 best places weren't in actually in Dallas. Angelo's is in Fort Worth, Clark's is in Tioga and Hammond's is in Glen Rose. If you're adventurous, any will do. The original Sonny Bryan's near downtown Dallas used to be the best in town for decades, but it was bought in about '95 by yuppie scum, franchised and ruined. I cied everytime I drove by the old shack. The chains (Colter's, Dickey's, Spring Creek) aren't bad, but you can do better. By the way, I like bbq, can you tell? Have fun, Curtis
