Riscky's in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. (This is the one where Jay Leno, the Tonight Show, flew in with a camera and surprised their kitchen one day.)

Clem Mikeska's BBQ in Temple, Tx is one of the best in the state. See www.clembbq.com for more info.

IMO, the Blue Ribbon Barbecue in West Newton, Massachusetts has the
best in the Boston area. They have a second location in Arlington,
 Massachusetts.

As a former Dallas boy, and Sonny Bryan's fan, I was singularly disappointed with Mikeska's. Tough brisket, not particularly smoky, so-so sides, unremarkable sauce. Stock up at Sonny's before you drive down 35!

My favorites from years of tasting:

Gardner's in Rocky Mount, NC
Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City
The Windmill, about a mile from the OK border in the Texas panhandle on I-40.

All different styles and all good.

My favorite BBQ is Black's in Lockhart, Texas. Fantastic. Been there since about 1920.
