Oops. It's just that Netcom is my ISP, but, even at home, my principal e-mail account is the one at the college where I teach. I sometimes go for days before thinking to check the Netcom mail. I promise. I would share. A couple of years ago, I posted something about Jesselson's, that Hyde Park seafood shop that got boudin in, and sang the praises of Old Plantation, the short-lived but damned-fine, truly authentic Texas-styled smoked BBQ place on Armitage. Really. I'd share. Here's proof: I just got back from a business trip to Boston. If you're ever OUTSIDE Boston, don't miss Tennessee's Real BBQ, Real Fast (locations in Framingham, Braintree, and Peabody). Really smoked, long and low, over hickory, cherry and apple. Great pulled pork, brisket, sausage, burnt ends, chicken, Memphis-style (wet or dry) ribs, baby back ribs, Texas beef ribs, sides (collards, bbq beans, cole slaw, yams, dirty rice, mashed taters, baked sweet tater, corn-on-the-cob, cornbread. Made me think I was back home in Texas. It was the first time I didn't want to get the hell out of Boston back to Chicago. Locally: Charcoal Delights, on Foster just east of Kedzie. Great 1/2-lb. cheeseburger, cooked to order, over real charcoal. It's a puzzlement to me how the McD across the street does any business at all. Cheers, Wade
