Well, I'll tell you, I live in the center of the state in Chapel Hill. I like Eastern style & Western style. I just depends my mood. I grew up on Eastern style from Allen & Sons in the RTP area. Its been reported he is the last one to fix fries from scratch "real taters" not frozen. Another favorite is J & G in Burlington. He has the most for the price. He sells gallons of his sause for folks that cook their on pigs. Lexington has the most places than about any other ares and I have tried several and I do not think ther is such a thing as bad one in Lexington. There is a place in Greensboro on Wendover and in High Point that if you go there on a Tue, Thur or Sat, it will ripe you apart trying to decide on pork or chicken (on those days they serv chicken) and last but not least if you happen to be in the Chapel Hill area on the right weekend (about 4 times a year) the best I'vr ever had can be enjoyed at Ebenezer-Merritts Chapel, United Methodist Church. When they put on a spread of BBQ & Stew with homade desserts that will bust your gut. It's all you can stuff. It you go don't eat all day so you have plenty of room.
