I have tried just about every BBQ place in my town and here are my suggestions---

Rendezvous-- Not really barbecue, but how can you beat their location and the ribs are really great, even if they are chargrilled instead of BBQ. The best place to go in the whole city of Memphis. You never know who you will see at this place.

Interstate BBQ on Third street-- Mr Jim Neely is darn good at putting out a top quality sandwich and he gives you a lot for your money. In my opinion the most consistently good pork sandwich in the whole city.

BBQ shop on Madison ave-- They will serve their sandwiches on either a bun or Texas toast. They have the best bbq bologna in town, if you like that low brow delicacy.

Willingham's-- the only place in town that serves up a good plate of bbq ribs. This guy could write a book on BBQ-- and he did-- John Willingham has a top notch restaurant and the Macaroni and Cheese is my favorite side order.

Hope this helps
