Ed,

Get yourself to Mary's BBQ. It's the best in town. Whenever we go back there, or my spouse goes (his family lives there) we bring Mary's que home and bottles of her sauce. The bbq chicken is very good. I'm a pig ribs fan, myself.

I also liked the Belle Meade Cafeteria. A little shabby but hanging on to pretension; the food's plentiful and an experience.

There's a farmer's market in Nashville - sort of interesting.

Have a drink on the moving platform at the Grand Ol' Opry. Stupendous there, or my spouse goes (his family lives there) we bring Mary's que home and bottles of her sauce. The bbq chicken is very good. I'm a pig ribs fan, myself.

We found a sushi bar, but it was run by a Korean. It wasn't bad. It's near Music Row and i'm sorry, forgot the name.

The next time we're in Nashville, I'm going to Hap Townes. Jane and Michael Stern gave it a big thumb's up. It's a meat and three place. The fried chicken was highly recommended; it's served on Tuesday only. It can be all gone by 11 am, so plan an early lunch.

Have fun, don't despair, there is okay food in Nashville.

My two Music City Bar-B-Que favorites are:

1.The Perfect Pig

2.Tex's (only open for lunch)

Don't miss The Perfect Pig,it's about 15 minutes outside Nashville in White Bluff,Tn...well worth the trip.
