I forgot about Poca Cosa. I must agree that it's great food! And Jano's is located in the Westin La Paloma and there is now a "casual" Jano's called the Bar J also in the Westin.

Both for Tucson:
For a unique and authentic Mexican dining experience, seek out Una Poca Cosa downtown. It's breakfast, but it's owned by the same family as the restaurant in the Quality Inn downtown. Go to both, if possible. Probably will need to wait. The best Mexican food I've ever had in the US.

One of the top five meals in my life was at Janos'. Formerly in the Presidio, now in Mission Hills (?) resort. Probably the most expensive, but definitely the best around. (Try the ostrich appetizer, to go with another posting from today.) Pablo

Tucson Suggestions -

    Definitely Poca Cosa for Mexican
If you want an inexpensive Mexican Food experience try Crossroads on
south 4th Ave.

Italian - Maybe try Vivace (Grant and Swan)

For higher priced dining options - McMahon's Steakhouse (Great food at
big prices), Anthony's (Great wine list, Great view, big prices), Arizona Inn (Beautiful setting, Great food, big prices (the bar serves a more reasonably priced menu with all of the same good food and setting)), Janos and the J Bar ( As mentioned in the other posts), The Ventana Room (Probably the most expensive restaurant in Tucson, but worth it, Great Views, Great food, and great atmosphere)

Other dinners at reasonable prices - Presidio Grill (Speedway and
Country Club), Old Pueblo Grill (Alvernon and Broadway), Wildflower (Oracle and Ina)

I guess that probably lists more places than you could possibly dine at....

Jano's in Tuscon at th Westin LaPaloma is great.....for Mexican, the best is any of the "Casa Molina" chain....and one worth trying:"Coldstone Creamery"if you like ice cream...unBELEIVABLE!

Haven't been to Tucson in about 5 yrs. but Boccata was one of our favorites for upscale Italian at that that time. I think it's located at Greycroft & (River?) Roads.

Alas, Boccata is defunct. In it's location is another restaurant whose name escapes me at the moment. The address is CRAYCROFT and River Roads.
