Restraurants in Phoenix area

Here are my recommendations for restaurants:
American Food:
The ultimate steak: Ruth's Chris Steak House (expensive but worth it)
General Menu (steak, ribs, fish, etc.): Trappers
The 2 pound cowboy steak: Pinnacle Peak Patio
BBQ Ribs: Don & Charlies (Good food but high noise level)
A nice non-chain coffee shop: Randy's at Hayden & Chapparal
Japanese: Kyoto
Thai: Daa's Thai Room or Pink Pepper
Indian: Delhi Palace (in Phoenix near 52nd St. & McDowell, the new one on
Scottsdale Road isn't as good)
Italian: Chianti (in Phoenix, 40th St. & Camelback, moderate priced)
Un-Bacio (fancier, higher priced)
Indonesian: There ain't none. This is a request to the culinary gods to
send us one.
Chinese: IMHO there isn't a really good Chinese restaurant in Scottsdale.
For what I call "yuppie-Chinese" there's PF Changs at Fashion
Square. The food's good if not particularly authentic; the
clientele--pure yuppie, the place to CNB Seen.
For the best in town, Big Wong way over at 6th Ave. & Indian
School, in Phoenix.
French: No comment...I'm just not into French food.
Mexican: a little touristy: Julio's Barrio or El Torito
for chile relleno to die for: Tee Pee Tap Room (42nd St. & Indian
School in Phoenix, the local's choice)
Try this list for starters. If anyone else from Scottsdale is on the 'net, maybe they'll share their choices.
Best regards & good eating,

Just adding to the info:
It depends on your interests. If you are looking for ethic Indian food (there are quite a few places here) try:
Taste of India 16th St. and Bell Road, Phoenix 85022 (602) 788-3190
Non greasy food, excellent vegetarian selections.
There are 2 other Indian recommendations in the World Guide to Veg. Restaurants (rtfm.mit.edu:/pub/usenet/news.answers/vegetarian/guide/*).
For Middle Eastern a good one is:
Haji-Baba Middle Eastern Rest. 1513 E Apache Blvd. Tempe (602) 894-1905
For ethnic ones, the Phoenix Metro yellow pages has a classified section. All the above have good veg. and non-veg selections. Call ahead for the times of operation.
Happy eating in the Valley of the Sun!
Sridhar.be sure to try "christopher's" -- expensive (but excellent) french/continental restaurant in phoenix. the foie gras was the best i've had in the USA.
I'd add:
Spanish:
Tapas*Papa*Frita - pretty good tapas, good size portions for
entrees, fairly light on the olive oil (i.e. much lighter in
adding in oil compared to spanish chefs in Spain). Apparently
has flamenco during some evenings. It's on Camelback at 32nd
Street. (602) 381-0474.
