Elsewhere in Scottsdale you will find MARQUESA, at The Princess Resort. The food is Spanish/Mediterranean and is delicious. Lovely ambience much like a terrace somewhere in Andalucia. I particularly recommend the Sunday brunch which was fabulous. 7575 E. Princess Dr. (Scottsdale Rd.), 602/585-4848.

A little farther up Scottsdale Road you'll find another resort in Carefree called The Boulders. There are 2 restaurants there. The more formal one is The LATILLA ROOM: excellent new Southwestern cuisine. 34631 Tom Darlington Rd. (Carefree Hwy.), 602/488-9009. The setting is almost surrealistic, like a lunar landscape. First class all the way.

Everyone says that VINCENT'S is the best in town, but I was completely underwhelmed. The food was good, but the service was inexplicably snotty. You probably should try it just because. Vincent Guerithault on Camelback, 3930 E. Camelback Rd. (40th St.), 602/224-0225.

Sorry to hear that you were not properly treated at Vincent Guerihault's. I have eaten there serveral times over the past few years and have always been treated with proper respect. It would be a shame to have the wonderful experience of Vincent's food spoiled by the dining room staff. JDB Sacramento, CA
