Thanks much! >Eileen & Al I asked my son who lives in Tucson and he offers this: "Okay, after a bit of thought last night, I've got a list of good restaurants here in Tucson. I don't know exactly what Eileen and Al are looking for (though they mentioned Mexican), so here are quite a few. Mexican ======= La Fuente El Parador La Parrilla Suiza Mi Nidito Of those, La Fuente is probably my favorite. They often have a small mariachi band playing, which is really neat. La Parrilla Suiza makes a darned good green salsa. Mi Nidito is pretty hard to get into; expect a long wait, and they don't take reservations. Other Cultural Food =================== Zeemam's - Ethiopian Seri Melaka - Chinese/Malaysian Nonie - New Orleans Bunbuku - Japanese (Sushi) Sakura - Japanese (Sushi and Tepenyaki) Those are all pretty good. Bunbuku has more than just sushi; they've got some good tempura and yakitori. Nonie is fantastic, but I have nothing really to compare it to. Their boudin is quite tasty, and much of their food is almost inedibly hot. Seri Melaka is clearly the best Asian restaurant in town, IMHO. I've been to Zeemam's once; it's hard to get into like Mi Nidito, but for a very non-Western dining experience, give it a try. Sakura probably isn't that unique, but it's the only tepenyaki restaurant I've been to in town. Other ===== No Anchovies Eclectic Cafe Frog and Firken Geronimoz No Anchovies is the best pizza possibly on the planet. It's a smallish restaurant located near the U of A campus; mostly you get pizza by the slice. Their crust is perfect. Their toppings are perfect. The Eclectic Cafe is just that; it's sort of a health food kind of place, IIRC. Frog and Firken is right next door to No Anchovies; it's another college type place. They've got some pretty fine sandwiches there. Geronimoz is on the -other- side of No Anchovies, and is yet another college type place. They deep fry their bread. Yum." I'll be darned!! Didn't know the kid enjoyed such variety!! Hope this helps. -Barb

Good Eats In Tucson???
Here are a few of my favorite Mexican Restaurants in Tucson. Cafe Poca Cosa This place is an a class by itself. The food is not your standard Mexican cuisine, but very creative and absolutely delicious. A bit more expensive than the typical Mexican place, but not really high priced. Le Mezon Cobre Specializes in seafood, but everything is very good. Mariachi Band on the weekends. One of my favorite places. Mi Tierra Just North of Tucson in Catalina. Very reasonable prices and wonderful food. Tucson has a truly large number of good restaurants for a city it's size. Some of my non-Mexican favorites include: Cafe Terra Cotta WildFlower Presidio Grill Barrio Metroplitan Grill Keatons Kingfisher Gavi Happy dining, Peter

Or the Tack Room?>. Or Boccata. Kingfisher in particular is a favorite of ours. The food is terrific & the service top-notch. I'm surprised by the omission of Janos, another excellent restaurant.
