Beaver St. Brewery, Flagstaff AZ

Easily our favorite Flagstaff restaurant.

Located in the historic district S of the RR trax in a neat old stone building, BSB offers first-rate food & beer in a casual (if sometimes very noisy) setting. The outdoors patio is quieter, if weather's nice, but that's where the smokers are...

Food: first-rate burgers, cooked rare if you want, served with good slaw but mediocre fries (memo to self: ask for a substitute next time) Half-pound with all fixins: $8.65

Excellent personal-size pizzas for about $8. KO's favorite is the Black Forest.

Green Goddess salmon salad is usually good to excellent -- good idea to ask how fresh the fish is.

Specials have always been good to excellent.

For cheapskates, bowl of chile with cornbread for $5. My favorite is the chicken (rotates daily).

Desserts -- you don't need 'em, which is just as well, as (in our limited experience) they haven't been worth it.

For tourists: you can avoid the maddening traffic on Milton (signed US-180, Grand Canyon) by exiting I-40 at Butler, proceed west to San Francisco (light), turn R = N, turn left at last st BEFORE RR trax, then turn L = S on Beaver. Beaver is one-way S-bound. BSB will be on your right, abt 2 blox S of trax.

Bon appetit!

Cheers - Pete in Prescott [AZ]
