Bobby Jones is pictured as captain of the American side in the Walker Cup, the amateur team match between the United States and Great Britain that began in 1922. The caption credits him with leading his teammates to victory over the British team. Jones, one of the most celebrated amateurs in the sport, retired from championship golf in 1930 after completing the calendar Grand Slam. The print is undated, but its record places it between 1920 and 1940, the period of Jones's peak.
