The American System-Built House was Frank Lloyd Wright's attempt to bring good design within reach of ordinary households, and this floor plan for Model B1 shows how far he took that idea. Wright developed the system around 1911 with the Richards Company, which aimed to prefabricate standardized wood components that could be assembled into a complete house on site. The drawing lays out the rooms, openings, and circulation in the clean, horizontal logic that defines his Prairie-style work, with open living spaces organized around a central hearth. Worth noticing is how the plan treats the house as a single composed system rather than a collection of separate rooms.
