A glass negative titled "Capt. Fisher, Harvard" places a named officer on the Cambridge campus, though the record does not say which Fisher he was or what brought him there. The title comes from caption cards and data that the Bain News Service supplied, and the record itself has no firm date. The Bain News Service was a New York photo agency that sold pictures of people and events to newspapers from about 1900 into the 1920s, so this negative likely belongs to that newswire output. Glass plates of this size were a common format for press work of the era, and they preserve fine tonal detail that later prints can lose.
