Bulmer's Champagne Cider was a sparkling apple drink from H. P. Bulmer, the Hereford firm that grew into one of Britain's best-known cider makers. The name borrowed the prestige of champagne to sell a fizzy, sweeter cider to a wider public. The illustrations reflect how drinks advertising of the period leaned on leisure, elegance and the idea of a festive occasion, so the artwork often sells a mood and a lifestyle more than the product itself.
