A coach belonging to Mrs. Thomas Hastings pulls away from the Colony Club, with Mrs. A. Iselin, Mrs. Hastings and Mrs. W.G. Loew named in the caption. The Colony Club was a women's social club in New York City, founded in 1903, and its members were drawn largely from the city's prominent families. The picture comes from the Bain News Service, a New York press photo agency whose glass negatives later went to the Library of Congress. The record notes that its title came from caption data the agency supplied and was not independently verified, so the names and the May 10, 1911 date are worth checking against other sources.
