Its slogan asks for a warm heart and an open hand toward Germany's war-disabled, tying that plea to the Ludendorff-Spende, a donation drive named for General Erich Ludendorff. Printed in Munich by Fritz Maison around 1917, this color lithograph is signed by the artist Bernhard. Posters like it used sentiment and a famous commander's name to press civilians for money toward the care of the many men maimed in the war.
