A sculpture of three female heads, set together as a single group, is the subject of this November 1920 glass negative, a detail that distinguishes it from the street scenes and public buildings that fill much of the National Photo Company's output. The Washington, D.C., firm worked through the 1910s and 1920s and made its pictures on glass plates, the standard negative material of the period before flexible film became common. The title was supplied by the company and has not been verified, so the artwork's identity remains uncertain, and the streaks and blemishes in the coating are signs of the plate's age rather than part of the original scene.
