Titled *The lover's reconciliation*, this single print carries a c1846 date with an April 18 notation, though the record flags both the date and the associated firm name as unverified. The shelflist card links it to Sarony & Major, a name connected with nineteenth-century print publishing, which places it among the sentimental genre prints that circulated widely in the 1840s. Scenes of courtship and quarrels like this one made affordable decoration for middle-class homes, and images of a quarrel mended suit the Valentine's Day theme, since prints of this kind were often given as tokens of affection.
