A demonstration of a Ford tractor, dated to around 1921, documents one of the machines that Ford's sales efforts put in front of farmers. The Fordson, introduced in 1917, was among the first mass-produced tractors and helped shift farm work from horses and mules toward engine power. The National Photo Company, which made this glass negative, recorded many subjects across the country in the early twentieth century. The title comes from the company's own notes and has not been independently verified, and faint streaks on the glass reflect natural deterioration of the original coating.
