A glass negative of Chas. H. Seely on the links at Baltusrol shows an early golfer at one of New Jersey's best-known courses. The Baltusrol Golf Club, in Springfield Township, opened in 1895 and later hosted several U.S. Open championships. The picture comes from the George Grantham Bain Collection, the New York news photo files whose staff captured sporting and society subjects during the early 1900s. The record notes that the title comes from unverified caption data, so the identification of Seely rests on the original negative and card.
