The caption names Oswald Mosley, the British politician, and a bride, but the title comes from unverified Bain News Service caption cards, and the record gives no date or location to confirm which wedding is shown. Mosley married twice, in 1920 and in 1936, so the identification is worth checking against other sources before it is taken as settled. The Bain News Service supplied newspapers with news and society pictures, and its glass negatives, now held by the Library of Congress, document American and international news from the early twentieth century. Weddings of prominent people were a common subject for such photographers, so this picture reflects how press images framed public figures and their private milestones.
