A floor plan of the Miller House, with each room labeled, makes this sheet a rare kind of record: it shows how the house was arranged room by room rather than how it looked from the street. Drawings like this were used to plan construction, to settle questions of use, and to explain a building to clients, builders, and later owners. The labels let a reader trace the flow between rooms, from entry and main living spaces to service areas and private quarters. Its presence on a board of library subjects suggests the house may have included or been connected to a library room, which is worth checking against the drawing's notations.
