Cleveland's 1910 club is the team pictured here, posed in full uniform across a wide panoramic frame inside a ballpark. Team panoramas like this were popular in the early 1900s, when photographers used large-format cameras to capture an entire squad, bench, and grandstand in one exposure. Cleveland was then a member of the American League, which had only been operating as a major league since 1901, so images from these years document a sport still defining its look and its ballparks. Notice the uniforms and the spacing of the players, which record how teams presented themselves to fans before the modern era of mass-printed programs and broadcasts.
