About the book
Esther Levy wrote for Jewish housekeepers cooking by the dietary laws in America. As the title page promises, the book goes past recipes into medicinal recipes and advice on housekeeping and running a home.
The title page opens with a line of Hebrew and the words "A cookery book properly explained, and in accordance with the rules of the Jewish religion."
