Marlai on Sand Point Way east of the U District.
Excellent low light atmosphere, live soft piano in the evenings, full
french service, and wonderful ellegant thai food.

Really a nice place, and very reasonably priced.

Chez Shea and Campagne come to mind. However, a romantic dinner is
somewhat at the mercy of your fellow diners. Two drunken babes with a
cellphone at the next table can ruin any romantic dinner (like mine at Chez
Shea's). If the folks at the next table want to have a wild time, you
lose. Going out for romantic dinners is usually better on wed or thurs, as
 opposed to fri or sat.

My choice, even thought the tables are close together would be the Hunt
Club, in the Sorrento Hotel on Madison up the hill from the freeway.

p.s. An even more romantic dinner would be to rent out the 700 Suite, have
it catered by the restaurant's staff, enjoy the moonlight and view of
Seattle and the Bay on its deck, relax over a glass of bubbly in their hot
tub. And, finish the evening off in the bedroom of this wonderfull suite.
And, if you can play the piano, a romantic duet is not a bad idea as well.
Make certain you have the catering department stock up the fridge for some
breakfast munching in bed the next morning.

 Bungusto Restorante.

Its on upper queen ane ave. (Queen ane & Boston I think) Dim lights,
excelent food. Moderatly priced for italian cuisine. Decent wine
 selection. Never very busy.
