 Do NOT eat at Ivar's, you will see it advertised all over the place. They
 have the greasiest fried food I haver ever had.

 Well, there are three types of Ivars. Which would you recommend we avoid;
 the excellant seafood restaurants, the original fish bars, or the
 franchised fish & chip places?

 Ivar's seafood restaurants - Acres of Clams, Salmon House,and Mukilteo
 Landing, are among the better seafood restaurants in our area. While I
 don't usually recommend Ivar's seafood restaurants, they are worth a
 visit. The Salmon House in particular does copper river smoked salmon to
 perfection & their sunday brunch rates just a tad behind Salty's for good
 food with a view (Their flamed fruit crepes are great!)

 As for the original fish bars - yes they are greasy, but what would you
 expect - these places specialize in deep fried seafood, and they do it as
 well as any I've eaten. (Well, Spud's does do deep fried better when their
 fry cooks know what they're doing - which isn't always the case.)

 The franchised places are spotty - some are quite good - some are pretty
 bad. I don't eat at these unless I'm stranded in one's neighborhood and I
 need to get in & out with lunch quickly.
