Nora, you could take her to Altezzo, atop the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Tacoma. Superb Italian food. David's on Broadway is good for steaks. Another good place is Stanley and Seafort's, with a commanding view of the port and the Thea Foss Waterway. For waterfront dining, C.J. Shenani- gan's is a good place.

Most of the restaurants on the waterfront seem to be a bit too corporate for my tastes. When I'm in Tacoma I like the Tacoma Bar & Grill in the old City Hall building. Don't let the name mislead you. The atmosphere is great and so is the food, although I haven't been there in about a year and a half.

Hope this helps...

Amen to the Lobster Shop. Also could try the Lobster Shop on Dash Point.

OR...

Marzano's, in Parkland (I THINK they do lunch)
Stanley & Seafort (for the view)
