I tried this Caribbean place in Fremont (a reincarnation of Islabelle) last Friday. It is a very small eatery with maybe seven chairs all lined up along the window (no tables). We sneaked in towards the end of their opening hour so I don't know how crowded it gets. The dinner plate was $7.25 with large portions of rice, beans and salad and two segments of corn-on-the-cob. Mine was a halibut plate - very good. I missed the "foo-foos" they used to serve at Islabelle, though. My buddy simply had rice, beans and salad - a substantial-enough fare for a good meal. We also had excellent hot salsa to go with our food. The menu advertises tasty-sounding items for lunch so I'd definitely go back to try them. Overall, I am very glad that this cooking is back in town. Thanks to the seattle.eaters who alerted me to this place. Location: 4225 Fremont Ave N., in the same area as Fremont Classic Trattoria, Swingside etc. Mitsuhiro.

It easily fills up and lots of people (including me) will get food to go. Even when busy they are pretty quick--or you can call ahead. : The menu advertises tasty-sounding items for lunch so I'd definitely : go back to try them. I have had the shrimp sandwich quite a few times. A big roll with shrimp, lettuce, grilled onions and sauce on it. If you eat it there it comes with some other veggie (like a short corn cob piece). $5.50 as I remember and very good. I have friends who have had the chicken sandwich and have been very pleased. : Location: 4225 Fremont Ave N., in the same area as Fremont : Classic Trattoria, Swingside etc.
