Hunan at 9164 Rainier Ave [Rainier Beach] has consistently great service - they treat our kids as nicely as they treat us, and they ask where they are when we dine sans kids. Awesome food - well flavored, but not overpowering, food made without salt/MSG is as tasty as the food with. Good & filling lunch specials - most under $6. Dinner reasonably priced [$30 for our family of 4] and they give plentiful portions - we never come home without at least 1 container of leftovers. Kathy [who would love to be dining at Hunan tonight!]

Favorite Restaurant(s).
In no particular order:
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse: the best steak on earth, and extremely consistent.
good athmosphere, and great service, and a cigar
room.
Snappy Dragon: great homemade noodles!
Mom's Terryaki: fantastic, the best cheap terryaki.. great for lunch!
Palomino: some very, very, very good items.
India House
Sham Shiri: persian food almost as good as home!
The Frankfurter: quick bite on the hustle to catch a ferry that's leaving.

=-=--=-=-===-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=If you like the Coastal ( and I do too ...) then try Sammie Sue's (12th & Pine) when they re-open. They had very decent B'fasts and wheren't packo'd like the Coastal gets on the weekend - not to mention a friendly and down-home staff. my favorite meal to eat out is breakfast, and therefore (due to my downtown location and lack of car) The Coastal Kitchen defaults as my favorite restaurant in seattle. great service by an indefinable and extremely informal set of standards, and killer eggs and hash browns. new recipe ideas that don't confuse my mouth with their new nouveau novelty. other meals there are good, too, and they always have good ice cream and good coffee cake. ~tom
