I like Chinooks. I think their prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is pleasant, the view is pretty good, and the food tastes great. I've taken folks from out of town there and everyone has liked it. Lynn (who doesn't speak for Boeing. No one speaks for Boeing. I don't think Phil Condit can speak for all of Boeing...) Chinooks - opinions?

Chinook's has good food at moderate prices. It doesn't try to be in the same class as Ray's; Chinook's is not a "fine-dining" kind of place. It tends to be pretty noisy. They also have very good breakfasts. A great place in that area is Szmania's in the heart of Magnolia. Updated Continental-style menu. Lots of people also recommend Palisades--visually very impressive (I've only had one lunch there, so can't say much about the quality of the food; my lunch was good).

Palisades is fantastic. The food, while heavily tilted toward seafood, is diverse ethnically. The surroundings are gracious and the waiters are friendly. They have a great view over Eliot Bay, even on a drizzly night. We had the "Atlantic Bluefish" and the "Moreton Bay Bugs", which are similar to lobster (yummier, in my opinion). Each was prepared with very different sauces and vegetable accompaniment. My "bug tails" were laid on a bed of potatoes with black truffles. They will also put a card on the table for special occasions, which we found a nice touch on our anniversary. They are not inexpensive, but are well worth the cost of admission. There is a great player piano bar on one side, for those of you who would like to check it out after work before committing.
