Try "La Botana" on Greenwood, just north of N. 85th. A veritable hole-in-the-wall, with limited english facility among the staff, but exceptional - and exceptionally diverse - mexican food. Birria most days, but also try the Borrego (braised lamb or goat shank) - piquante and flavorful. For something a little milder (but still wonderful) try the Pollo Crema - chicken in a chile punched cream sauce. Used to be about 99% latino clientele, but I've noticed a growing gringo contingent seems to have discovered this little place. Hopefully, the food quality will not be compromised to satisfy more northern tastes. Incidentally, among the profusion of "Taco Wagons" that are popping up in north Seattle, the one just north of the Safeway store (currently under construction) on N. Greenwood stands out. Limited selection (even by taco wagon standards) but excellent quality. Had a couple of carne asada tacos and a torta al pastor earlier this week that were just outstanding! No outdoor seating and the parking is tight, so plan on grabbing your food and moving along. -Wes B J. wrote: >I'm particularly fond of Taquiera Guyamas - the one near me (200th and >Aurora; used to be a Skippers) even has Lenua on the menu.
