Kaspar's is fine-quality Northwest-Continental cuisine with Pacific Rim touches. Kaspar Donier has a fine sense of flavor and presentation, and Kaspar's is deservedly ranked among the top Seattle restaurants. Price range is somewhat spendy; maybe $75 to $100 for two, depending on appetites, selections, and wine choices. There is a chef's table in the kitchen, where Kaspar will feed you and your party of four to six people whatever he feels is best, while you drink wine and discuss the choices with him. This can range as high as $75 or so a person, for what most patrons regard as a worthwhile and memorable evening. The Hunt Club at the Sorrento is a touch more traditionally continental, and has been proving ground for at least one of Seattle's most highly regarded chefs. Price range is also on the high side. Andaluca features wonderful, flavorful Mediterranean-influenced cuisine, with a menu that features tapas and more substantial dinner entrees. Two people can dine well on a selection of four or five tapas and some good wine or microbrew beers, and room should be reserved for the desserts. Prices are more moderate; it isn't terribly difficult for two people to get out for about $50, maybe even a bit less. The last time I ate there, just a few weeks ago, I sat back after dinner and basked in the warmth of the garlic flavors lingering on my tongue. Great place.
