Thai restaraunt in No VA

The Tara Thai at Idylwood Plaza has really good food and service, but after having gone there for "off-peak" meals, I was a little disappointed at the ambience at a weekend evening meal I ate there. The place was packed: tables extraordinarily close to each other, people waiting to be seated standing right next to diners, both at the bar area and near the front door, and most disconcerting of all was the noise level. You had to really raise your voice to make your dinner partners understand you.

That said, I'll go back soon, but not for a weekend dinner.
