Best place in Washington is "The Islander". a Trinidad and Tobagan retaurant in Adams Morgan. The atmospher is very casual and fun too. It's on Columbia Road across from Safeway, on the second floor. They have a million types of Roti, and try the ginger beer while you're at it. Enjoy! Mark

NNTP-Software: PC/TCP NNTP Can't testify to quality as I haven't been there, but I found the following on the Washingtonian's web site: Jamaican D'Lite Langley Park Atmosphere is not the strong suit of Jamaican D'Lite. What makes a visit worthwhile is food good and cheap. Main courses are priced between $5.50 and $8 and come with red beans and rice. The codfish fritters and the thinly sliced fried plantains are good ways to begin a meal here. There are about a dozen main courses and a few roti selections (these are Caribbean sandwiches, with tortilla-like shells substituting for bread). Most main courses are served in a moderately spicy sauce, including good curries of goat and of chicken. The excellent jerk chicken is slightly charred and spicy. Most fish dishes are deep-fried and flavorful. Sweet-potato pudding is a pleasing dessert. Beverages include ginger beer, sorrel, and familiar soft drinks. Beer is not sold, but it's possible to bring your own in paper bags. JAMAICAN D'LITE, 1401 University Boulevard East (International Mall), Langley Park; 301/434-3700. Open Monday through Saturday 11 am to 9:30 pm. No credit cards.
