Your message made me suspect that they'd be closing and since this is a DC area institution, I wanted to check it out for historical sake. Our waiter confirmed that they're closing October 4. Condos will be put there. I assume that includes the parking lot because surely just the restaurant property isn't worth $80M. As far as good seafood restaurants, my favorite is Pesce on P near 20th west of Dupont Circle. Just a little closer to the Circle is Johnny's Half Shell also very good. Pesce has the freshest possible fish. Their menu is on a chauk board and changes at least daily. Johnny's Half Shell's menu doesn't change often, and they also have non-seafood dishes. Kinkead's is an outstanding restaurant, mostly seafood. Legal Seafood downtown (2 locations), from Boston has well prepared seafood. So does McCormack & Schmidt from Seattle downtown. Good fresh seafood. Their cheaper branch is M&S Grill. They also have a restaurant in Bethesda. Mary B. wrote: > Just had dinner last night at O'Donnell's in Bethesda.
