Crisfield's is a well known area seafood restaurant. I have never been to the flagship restaurant in Silver Spring, College Park or wherever, but I've heard about it for years. That's why I checked out the LaPlata place that I pass every couple of weeks. The LaPlata place purports to be owned by the family so I assume the food is the same, although I can't verify that.

In my impression it is "OK" if you occassionaly like an O'cean City, "Phillips" kind of family seafood dinner. Most of the stuff is battered and fried, good crab cakes, fried clam strips, etc. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but I'm not aware of anything better in that neck of the woods. I regularly drive down 301 on my way to the Northern Neck. I too would appreciate any recommendation for pit stops down 301 or in the Neck (preferably the upper part of the Neck).
