If you like flaky, thin-crusted pizza, Ledo's Pizza opened up in Bethesda, Maryland (about 15 minutes from Washington, DC) a couple of years ago. Arno's in Bethesda is not too bad. And Potomac has a great, albeit slightly expensive pizza place on Falls Road just beyond the intersection of Falls and River Road, in Potomac Village: Potomac Pizza Place. The crust is thick, and they even have a whole wheat crust option. For vegans, they are happy to add extra sauce, although, like most pizza places, they look at you a little funny when you ask for the pizza without cheese and extra sauce.

I've never been to the Ledo's in Bethesda, but I've found that the quality varies greatly between Ledo's franchises. The original one in Adelphi, MD is your best bet.

Gepetto's in Bethesda and Georgetown and Faccia Luna (sp?) on Wisconsin Ave north of Georgetown have good pizza.
