David,
I think you should try the Austin Grill or South Austin Grill. I must tell you that I do work for these restaurants though. Both are consistently ranked in The Washingtonian's 100 Very Best and 100 Best Bargain Restaurants. They are also included in The Washington Post's Favorite Restaurants. The original Austin Grill is located on Wisconsin Ave in Glover Park and South Austin Grill is located on the Corner of King St. and N. Columbus in Old Town Alexandria. Feel free to e-mail us if you have any questions or comments.

You must be kidding! DC has one of the best mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at - Jaimalitos - it's down by the Watergate Hotel, on the river. I don't remember the address, but they are listed.

It's upscale and a bit pricey, but the food is excellent, the drinks are big, and the decor is great.

Try "Enriquita's" in G-Town, on M Street (i think-- the one that runs straight through Georgetown, not the other main street which goes to the harbor, Wisconsin, i think). They have authentic Mexican-- no tacos here. We go everytime we are in town.

Bob appetit!

If you go out of town, in Fairfax on Rt 50 &29 is a small place called Tres Amigos. It doesn't look much but it's good

My recommendations:
1. Rio Grande -- Arlington, VA
2. Cactus Cantina -- Washington, DC
3. El Palacio -- Arlington, VA
4. Los Amigos -- Alexandria, VA

Highly recommend Rio Grande in Arlington. Good food and lots of it. Best, freshest chips in town.
