I don't have time to go into details, but Marakesh is one of the best restaurants in D.C. Hands-down. If you go and don't enjoy yourself email me and I'll pay you back. -Peter

The room is large and ornate. I've been four times over the last 15 years, and I'd be happy to go back again every once in a while. The food is scrumptious. You only get a choice between a couple of items for one or two courses. It's a fixed-price meal, $30 last time I went, which was a number of years back. I don't know whether there's a dress code. The best way to answer that question is to call and ask. It's not the kind of place I'd go in cut-offs or a t-shirt, but nice jeans might be OK.
I've always thought Marakesh is a great place to take new friends. There are few "bonding" experiences as delightful as sitting close together on those makeshift sofas they have and eating with your fingers. As I recall, however, I don't think they have alternatives for vegetarians. I may be wrong. I also believe that it is handicapped accessible. ----------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------- "HA! That's it!
