Terrific restaurant!!!! Las Cruces, located on the south side of
 U St. between 15th and 16th. Go for the Chile relleno.

I tried Las Cruces this weekend, and was somewhat disappointed.  The chile fritters were pretty good (though not exactly authentic, with Cheez Whiz), but our entrees were very bland.  The quality was fine, but the food just wasn't too inspired.
