Hi there,

If you're looking for a nice Korean restaurant in the DC area,
may I suggest Jin-ga (translation: loyalty). I stumbled across it while walking back to my car from one of the nearby clubs (Badlands) and then saw an ad for it in August's Washingtonian. It's address is 1250 24th Street NW in Washington DC. They take reservations (202-785-0720), but it wasn't very busy when I went. I believe it just recently opened. The atmosphere is very nice. It reminded me of Korea when I was over there back in 1983. They have special dining rooms (for 4 or more people) where you can eat on the floor as it is custom to do in Korea. Depending on what you order, they may cook it at your table. The prices are a little expensive, but well worth it. My mother is Korean, so I am familar with most of the menu and was pleased with my meal. Those who aren't familiar with Korean cuisine won't have too much trouble getting an idea of what each item on the menu is as each has a short description and the wait staff is very patient with explaining anything you are curious about. They will even describe for you how to eat your meal in a traditional Korean manner. With most orders you get rice and several side dishes, including (of course) Kimchee! The bill came to just under $50.00 for two appetizers, two entres, drinks, tax, and tip. For parties of 4 or more, they have special prices on "combo dinners" which looked like they included A LOT of food. If you happen to have September's Washingtonian, the ad is in the very back.

Enjoy!

Danny.

Enjoy!

Woo Lae Oak on Joyce Street in Arlington is very good, too.

There is an outstanding Korean restaurant in Arlington on 14th Street close to Pentagon City. I am sorry I can't remember the name but it is worth a bit of research if you are looking for the real thing.
