I have always liked the Alpine on Lee Highway. Don't recall exact address but is close to intersection of Gleebe Rd and Lee Highway. Kind of on the pricey side but excellent food and service make it worth the price. The wine selection is fairly decent too! {:)>

The only ones I can recommend are Tivoli, at the Rosslyn metro, and R. Dona's Il Radicchio, just up the hill on Clarendon Blvd. at Rhodes St. Most of the rest are of the "red sauce and garlic bread" approach. Some folks like the Alpine, on Lee at Glebe, but I wasn't that impressed.

Generally, one has to go to DC or Bethesda for good Italian food. Or cook it yourself.

Buon appetito! (Mangia, mangia!)
