Foggy Bottom is just southeast of Georgetown. An excellent and authentic French pasrty shop in Georgetown is Cafe Didier. It is on a side street, just off Wisconsin Ave., just past the canal.

In Foggy Bottom are two excellent restaurants. The one I go to more often is West End Cafe, at the 1 Washington Circle hotel (not surprisingly, it is on Washington Circle, which is the circle at Pennsylvania and NEw Hampshire, about a block from the Foggy Bottom metro stop). The Foggy Bottom Cafe, at 924 25th, was good about two years ago. It is roughly two blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro.
