There was a thread here not too long ago re: best restaurant in the DC area. I'd probably vote for Inn at Lil Washington, for overall combination of food and service...but it's just *so* expensive! I had dinner yesterday afternoon, as part of a group of 15, at Chez Francois in Great Falls, VA. The food and service were both very good indeed -- and the per person charge worked out to about $50 (including drinks, wine, etc.) That's not chicken feed, of course, but I'd say CF is one of the best fine dining values in this region.
