Here are some suggestions listed in some sort of order of preference:

Cafe Luna on P St. just off 17th: Billed as "Pizza, Pasta, and
Attitude". It's all very fresh and tasty and quite reasonable.

El Tamarindo 18th and U: Decent cheap Mexican food. Hearty
servings. Good margueritas.

Dupont Italian Kitchen, 17th and R?: Good, basic italian food.

Greek Place: I don't know the name, but it's right near the Northern
Dupont Circle Metro stop. It's a carry out and also has outdoor seating.

Murphys, just off Calvert and Connecticut behind the Sheraton: Good
Irish pub. The foods nothing special, but it's OK. The beer and atmosphere are great, though.

Zoo Bar: It's officially called something else but everyone calls
it the Zoo bar since it's just across the street from the Zoo. It's you basic dive bar with burgers and stuff.

      Bon appetit n stuff
